new atogs
atogs were banned for a reason. they really shouldn't of braught back such a powerful card. too powerful if you ask me
Yet ah! why should they know their fate?
Since sorrow never comes too late,
And happiness too swiftly flies."
Thought would destroy their paradise.
No more; where ignorance is bliss,
'Tis folly to be wise."

acctually i differ with you. the atogs are very un predictable and thats where there advantage takes place. you can attack with an atog and the openent won't block because he'll fear that you'll start sacrificing and kill his blocker, but then again, if he dosen't block, you can do some serious damage. thats why the atogs are so good and thats why the old atog was banned

The atogs are 'cute' indeed, but I believe them to be much more.
I do not view them as an offensive force (at least, not in most circumstances). The original atogs (especially the Necratog and Chronatog) were able to derive enormous +/+ from a certain sacrifice. They were thus used frequently in decks which planned for those sacrifices (Stasis and Living death decks, for example).
The new atogs are a divergance. They are not really atogs, those machines of war which only needed a little deck fuel to win the game.
They are DUMPSTERS.
Does Threshold ring a bell? We do not, as yet, have enough knowledge of the Threshold cards to know what to expect. Nontheless, the Threshold cards are supposed to be incredibly powerful - if only there are 7 or more cards in the graveyard.
And that's exactly what the new atogs do.
If Odissey won't provide us with the cards to build a deck around those atogs, the next expansion will.
Ok, prophecy mode -off- :>

thats a very very good point. with the atogs plus threshold, you can put very strong cards down in earlier parts of the game. that could cause a great problem because you may never know when your openent may want to use the threshold abilty which makes the atogs a devestating force
