All good DS games, with the exception of Etrian Odyssey, are two dimensional and have graphics that would be considered mediocre on the SNES a couple decades ago.

If you care for graphics at all, go for the PSP, it should supply you with your flashy, mindless, fun

Then stay the hell away from the console,
unlike its competition it focuses on gameplay and as I grew up on
Rogue-Likes I find the graphics of the GBA a nice treat
