Actually, in the world champs, the tables are designed just for that- both players have an area in green in front of them, and the center of the table is red. You play spells on the red zone. But the stack doesn't *Really* exist.

Alot of blue counter/spells are like that. Repulse, counterspell (from different versions), dismiss, last word, stifle, mana leak, memory lapse..etc

If blue had this as a common, it would be very good in drafts.

Hinder doesn't help if your opponent goes first and has a bop/elves/sakura/other mana producer for 1 or 2 mana. Then again, mana leak does. :S
